A Zen-Cuisine Theory of Relativity

We can think of zen-cuisine as a practice, as the skillful art of cooking. Or we can think about zen-cuisine as a process…a process of coming to truly know ourselves. When we mindfully engage in zen-cuisine, over time, it transforms our consciousness. We see reality as it truly is. We are not separate, isolated beings, but are connected to all that exists. As we open ourselves to this boundless energy, we interpenetrate what is unfolding in the present moment. Through this interconnectedness, we come into a loving relationship with our own deepest nature. Indeed, we do become the change we wish to see. From this place of self-acceptance, we invite others to share our experience of zen-cuisine so they too might enjoy its benefits.  Through creating constructive energy, we evolve the global consciousness that empowers the entire living world. Then, as Deepak Chopra says, “everyone takes a step toward the critical mass required for change on a global scale.”
As more and more people practice zen-cuisine, conscious cooking will generate positive change. Our perspective on nourishing ourselves shifts, and reality shifts to match. In the kitchen, habitual patterns, and outdated ideas about food preparation come to our attention. In the light of consciousness, they fall away. We develop an increasingly balanced sense of who we are. Newly-emerging stability is nurtured by zen-cuisine, and we embrace life in its fulness. Our sense of inner self matures, and delights us. As we tenderly touch the loving essence of our being, its energy enlivens the food we prepare and enjoy eating.
